Does this describe you? You’re running and running to get things done, working on your business or career, feeling exhausted and stressed and are still not where you want to be?

Truth is, you are blocking the very prosperity, peace and good you are seeking, because your energy is so tense and anxious. My guess is you’re also a bit depressed, because you’re not getting the results you are working so hard to achieve.

By not giving yourself quality time, care and love, your life is out of balance. It is imperative that you equalize output and input.  If your output is greater than your input, you probably aren’t functioning at full capacity and the Universe will answer in kind; your results will not be balanced either.

The term “self-care” sounds simple, but many are confused on what it really is about. Self-care encompasses a multi-faceted area. Simply put, it is care provided by you, for you.

It is so much more than just getting a massage, a mani-pedi, etc. Let’s get to where you need to start, to really make sure we are giving ourselves restorative self-care:

First, we must take a little time for personal evaluation. Ask yourselves these questions:

  1. What brings me joy?
  2. What do I delight most in doing?
  3. When do I feel my best?

Self-discovery, reflection and realization is definitely a part of the process. After asking yourself these questions, think of ways that you can do what gives you inspiration.

This isn’t about money right now. This is about restoring your mind, body, and spirit. As Dr. Rev. Michael Bernard Beckwith says, “do what you do and the Universe will correspond to the nature of your song.” It’s important to shift the frantic, tense energy you have been using to “achieve your goals” and then create a different “output.”

If we are exhausted, stressed, or “strung-out,” we cannot be productive in the way that we want to be. Trust me, there will never be enough hours in the day, enough money, enough clients, etc.

It’s time to step out of that toxic stress pool and into a peaceful warm bath, so to speak – Or even literally. When is the last time you actually did something just for you, without guilt or thought of what you “should” be doing?

It is important to start the day, by getting grounded. Doing meditation is a great way to set yourself up for a win. So much positive can happen in stillness. True inspiration starts here.

If adding meditation to your schedule stresses you even more, do a short, guided meditation. This way you don’t even have to think about it. The rewards are built right in for you.

Maybe you have been feeling bad about yourself, because you haven’t been giving yourself the gift of exercise. Start with 10 minutes walking; at least you’re doing something FOR YOU. Remember: Part of something is better than all of nothing.

There are tons of other things you can do for yourself. Maybe you will get inspiration in your meditations. Giving yourself a bit of self-care is a win/win. There is no downside to it. You are finally starting to create the balance you have desperately been needing.
